sunnyvale council to tour stevens creek trail in Mountain ViewPublic Invited to Participate

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – It may seem like a walk in the park, but when a three-member sub-committee of Sunnyvale City Council tours the Stevens Creek Trail in Mountain View on Sunday, July 5, it will be an opportunity to learn about the real-world issues associated with having the trail run through the City. Members of the public are invited to join the councilmembers on the tour, which will begin at 10 a.m. from Landels School in Mountain View.
The tour of Mountain View’s portion of the trail is a follow-up to Council’s April 28 meeting, during which Council struck an existing policy opposing trail construction within the Stevens Creek corridor from the Sunnyvale General Plan Open Space and Recreation sub-element. At that meeting, Council also voted to create a three-member sub-committee to engage the community – through efforts like this tour – in coming up with alternatives to the previous policy.
